Cruising Through Glacier Bay - - Roaming from Southwest Georgia

Seeing this scenery reminds one once again, that something this magnificent can only be created by God.  These glaciers were enormous and massive.  Pictures do not portray actuality.

Sunflowers in Southwest Georgia

I decided to take a break from our Alaska Trip Log to show you a beautiful site here where I live.  There is nothing prettier than Sunflowers raising their heads to the Sun!

Cruising Towards Glacier Bay - - Roaming from Southwest Georgians

Diane and I spent an amazing afternoon drinking coffee and watching the beautiful scenery pass by the cruise ship window on this cold, foggy day - while we discussed "sisterly things".   This was a wonderful time we don't have often enough and is one of my most favorite memories of our trip.

Boarding the Cruise Ship in Skagway, Alaska - - Roaming from Southwest Georgia

After reaching Skagway we boarded our cruise ship.  The morning started out with the most beautiful sunrise.  (I have to admit Jimmy was the only one up early enough to take a picture.  He was letting me know what I missed.)  We enjoyed the day on board cruising toward Glacier Bay.

Whitehorse, Canada to Skagway, Alaska - August 21, 2010 - - Roaming from Southwest Georgia

The next day we went by coach and train from Whitehorse through Frazer and to Skagway to meet our cruise ship.  We passed through some of the most beautiful countryside that God has created.  Of course we had to do some shopping while we were there!

Eric, our tour director, did a wonderful job.

On the Road in Alaska - - Roaming from Southwest Georgians - August 20, 2010

Our adventures took us down the Alaska Highway through the beautiful countryside of Alaska from Beaver Creek to Whitehorse, Canada.  Along this highway we saw breath-taking scenery. We stopped at Emerald Lake; got off the bus; and had our pictures taken.  Do we look a little chilly?  We did have ice on the windshield that day.  We even saw a bear!  However,  we stayed on the bus to take his picture.

On to the North Pole! - - Roaming from Southwest Georgia

Our trip also took us to North Pole, Alaska.  Diane and I even got to sit on our own Santa's lap, and in August!  We traveled into Yukon, Canada and stayed in a small town called Beaver Creek.  We enjoyed a rustic meal and local entertainment.
